THE Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma has expressed satisfaction that the newly installed coronavirus testing center in the state will reduce the inconveniences of travelling to Ebonyi State, while a member of the State COVID-19 Prevention and Control Committee, hopes the facility will handle 114 samples daily.
A member of the Imo State COVID-19 Prevention and Control Committee, has expressed the hope that the newly installed coronavirus testing center will handle 114 samples daily, as the state governor, Hope Uzodinma is glad the facility will reduce the inconveniences of travelling to Ebonyi State.
The centre, which is a collaboration between Imo State Government and Everight Diagonistic Laboratories, was inaugurated in Owerri, after it was certified by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
A member of the COVID-19 Committee, Dr. Kingsley Dunga, Thursday advised people requiring for test call a toll -free number (112), and others, 07043954215, 09059995559 and 09040045164, disclosing that certified laboratory scientists and health workers are available at the testing center while ambulances are on 24 hour surveillance.
At the inauguration of the centre, Uzodinma, glad that the centre came on board, said another facility provided by the NCDC, would be commissioned in a fortnight.
Hoping that the centre would be used optimally to serve the purpose, the governor said that “the state is more prepared than ever in the fight to stop the deadly disease from discomforting Imo people.”
The Chairman of Everight Laboratories, Mr. Everest Okpara, who is also the President of the Owerri Chamber of Commerce and Industries (OCCIMA), promised that the facility would be managed well in order to save lives.
