FORMER president, Olusegun Obasanjo, will be the Chief Guest of Honour at the second South East Economic Summit (SEES), scheduled for November 11-13, at Enugu, Enugu State.

The former Chairman Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) Professor Anya O. Anya, will be the chairman of the event, while the Chairman, African Centre for Business Development, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa will deliver the key note address.

According to a statement signed by the Director-General of the South East Governors’ Forum Secretariat (SESGF), Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya and the Director, Media and Communication, Michael Udah, the theme of this year’s summit is ‘Repositioning the South East For Rapid Economic Development.’

The statement noted further that the SEGF was hosting the event “in partnership with UKaid – Department for International Development (DFID), Partnership To Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) and   South   East   Region   Economic   Development   Company   (SEREDEC).”

Other dignitaries and speakers, expected at the three-day summit are Chairman/CEO,   Geometric   Power   Limited   and   former   Minister   of  Power,   Prof.   Barth   Nnaji, the Chancellor/Founder, Gregory University, Uturu, (GUU) Abia State, Dr. Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe, Executive Director, Prisoners Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA), Chair NU Strategy Committee and Secretary NU Business Think Home Initiative Dr. Uju Agomoh.

Other participants include the Head of Agriculture, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc Eze Nwakanma, Regional Director, Nigeria Investment Promotion Council, Mr. Alfred Okeke, and the Founder, Nigeria Entrepreneurship Summit of Honours (NESH) and former president of the South East, South-South Professionals of Nigeria (SESSPN), Mr.  Emeka  Ugwu-Oju.

In another statement, Ugwu-Oju stated that, NESH will host a “special Gala Dinner to celebrate Igbo Enterprise and honour some impactful Igbo Entrepreneurs of the past and present at the SEES.” According to him, “this summit could not have come at a better time.”
